Removing air is the key to how Vacuum Sealing significantly extends food freshness.
Here's the science:

Targets Oxygen: Press to evacuate the air, primarily oxygen (O₂), creating an oxygen-free environment inside the package.
Slows Spoilage: Oxygen fuels spoilage bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Removing it drastically slows their growth.
Prevents Oxidation: Oxygen causes fats to turn rancid, fruits/meats to discolor, nutrients to degrade, and flavors to deteriorate. Vacuum sealing stops this.

Locks in Moisture: The airtight seal prevents food from drying out in the fridge and minimizes freezer burn (caused by moisture loss in the freezer).
How it Works: Food is sealed in a special bag, air is sucked out, and the bag is sealed shut, creating the protective environment.
Important Note: Vacuum sealing slows spoilage but does not sterilize food. Proper refrigeration or freezing is still essential, as the lack of oxygen can allow dangerous bacteria like botulism to grow if food is stored incorrectly.
